Do I need any experience in order to join the club?

No experience is required, we offer 6 lessons FREE OF CHARGE so that you can try it, to see if you like it.
Can I play casually/socially?

Yes. Just come along any Friday night during the season and 'pay-to-play'.
What equipment do I need?

If you are just starting out there is no need to buy any expensive equipment. We can lend you a set of bowls to try until you decide which suit you best. All you need is some flat soled shoes.
I don't know the rules, will this stop me from playing?

No – The basic rules are easily picked up and the more you play the more you will learn. Normally you would 'buddy up' with an experienced player at the club until you get the basics - if in doubt about anything always ask!
Do I have to play in club matches?

No - We have a large friendly fixture list during the season, plus the league but no one is forced to play in these games. If you do not put yourself forward you will not be pressurised into playing.
How long does the outdoor season last?

Approximately from Mid April until the end of September. We also have the facility to have short mat sessions during the winter in our clubhouse.
What are the membership fees?

Our current annual membership fees are:
Social (non-playing) member: £5
Social (playing) member: £45
First year of full member: £47.50
Full member renewal: £95
Can non-members (like family and friends) enter the club?

Yes – Spectators are always welcome
Is there a bar?

Yes, we have a comprehensive drinks range at very reasonable prices.
